hi well im a new member located in san diego, CA and is 23 y/o that is about to get a 73 (i hope) 240z soon (thanks the the GIBill) and I want to jump right into the conversion for the LS1, I've done some searching here and on google on what I should get for the swap to be a easy clean swap and what I've found is the complete engine, a t56 trans, engine mounts/trans mounts from JCI and then I should be ready to get this engine installed (I'm not going to do it, will fund a professional shop to do this, for that I want this to be a very clean looking car inside and out and keep the value extremely high for if i decided to sale) if there is something I'm missing or if something is highly recommended please tell, I am a complete newb when it comes to engine swaps I'm just good with knowing numbers, and basic everyday and somewhat moderate lvl mechanic stuff, never done such a project as this and ready to jump off the cliff, pro advice is much needed. Thanks

Yeah research, read, research, and read. Come up with a budget and add another 5k to it especially if you aren't doing the work yourself. If you are building a car to retain it's value then you are heading in the wrong direction. Hell you are heading into the wrong hobby if you want a return on your money. Oh did I mention read and research.

not really saying hold the value, i mean something that will be worth about.... 7-15k depending on what i do with it... Done some stuff with auto before but nothing like a engine swap or anything (2006 saturn ion redline) i just want to up the notch and get into something new.

Damn, you're probably about 5 miles from my house. If you want you could cruise over sometime and I'll take you for a spin in my Z, so you can decide if its really want you want. I'm willing to bet that you'll want it twice as much as you want it now, after 2 minutes in the car. ;)
