neale
I found one comment that the underlying structure between the two models is rather different, but I thought it would be worth asking whether anyone has ever tried fitting the 280ZX front panels (nose, bonnet, guards) to a 240/260Z? I was looking at the G-nose to improve aerodynamics, but the cost in Oz would be absolutely hideous, while the 280ZX nose is almost as clean as the G-Nose and I could pick up the parts far more cheaply here. Sorry, to clarify, the question was more whether anyone had fouind that it was workable to modify mounting points/structure to mount the 280ZX bodywork than just bolt on the panels, someone said something about hundreds of hours of work to go the other way (240Z - 280ZX), but that sounded like a guess rather than experience of trying the modifications. Thanks, Neale
V8_DatZun
I own a 280zx... and honestly i would put NOTHING from my car (except rear brake setup) on a 240z. I'd LOVE to have the front end of a 240 on my car however
m4xwellmurd3r
Anything is possible with money and hard work. Though, I think you'd mostly need the buckets, nose, and some modifications and fiberglass work than you would the whole front clip.
tonycharger72
The 280zx panels are a completely different shape - the guards on the 240-280z are much further inbound than the ZX's, means the ZX bonnet is much wider to! It would honestly be easier to make your own guards out of steel then try and get them to fit ! There is a mob in Australia called Alfa Fibreglass who do a G-Nose for the Z (there is a post in Body Kits and Paint Section about them) for $500AUD, they apparently have a pretty good name, Their G-Nose is a 2-piece unit and from the pics I was sent it looked pretty good! 260DET
What TC72 said, alternatively there are ways to improve the S30's crap aero, see the Windtunnel section. Which probably by now needs a name change.
neale
Thanks guys, Especially Tony for the pointer to the local G-nose suppliers with reasonable pricing. Neale
