nazgule6
hey guys its time to change my shocks and springs and i know theres lots of different set ups i can buy but i need help on figuring out the best set up for what i need it for.. the car is a 75 280z with a 350 sbc......i have heard lots of great and bad things about the tokio Illumina set up.......the springs are crap but the struts/shocks are good...so i was wondering would the Eibach/Illumina set up be better or not? im also looking to lower the car 1inch ONLY... if anyone know of any other shocks/springs set up that are average in performace and cheaper than the tokios please let me know..im not looking for anything that is high high in performance due to the fact that this car is only a daily driver and a show car NO TRACK..but maybe some street racing but thats all...... so let me know what you guys think thanks.... johnc
.i have heard lots of great and bad things about the tokio Illumina set up.......the springs are crap but the struts/shocks are good. The springs are not crap although some folks have had problems with the progressive front springs designed for the 240Z. The linear Tokico springs for your car (280Z) are very good and I sell bunches of them to the 240Z guys. The HP and Illumina shocks are good for a street car and can be used for autocross and open track days.
nazgule6
oo ic...yea thats what alot of ppl say........the hp shocks are much cheaper than the lllumina shocks oviously because of the 5 way adjustable set up...but for my use would those be the best for me....has anyone had hp shocks on there 280z before..if so let me know what you think and do u recommend them..should i get the hp and save money or should i bit the bullet and go for the lllumina? thanks.. Challenger
I used tokico hp shocks and springs. The car went down more than an inch. I think its pretty common that people get a couple inches.
johnc
I think its pretty common that people get a couple inches. It really depends on the condition of the car. Tokico designs for the factory weights and if the car weighs more then it settles more.
