Modern Motorsports Ltd
You mean a 2bolt small block chevy? No different externally than a 4bolt for your purposes. Fine to 350-500hp before you 'want' a 4bolt depending on who you ask........
RickB
BTW, a 400SB 2 bolt block has splayed caps/bolts and is arguably as strong as the 2 bolts. Feeble....your learning, that's cool. As stated externally the block is the same and will work fine.
Guest Anonymous
Yeah like Ross said, either will do the trick for most peoples street hp levels. The 2 bolt or 4 bolt refer's to the number of bolts holding the main bearing caps. 4 bolt are arguably stronger, but a 2 bolt can be converted to be a bit stronger with splayed aftermarket 4 bolt bearing caps, this requires machining to use. If you have a 2 bolt, build it up and run it, it'll work for you just fine. Regards, Lone

fl327
i run a two bolt main 327, and i love it! Leonard "nothing wrong with being a two-bolter, right?"
DavyZ
My 350 is a 2-bolt and I'll run that sucker up to 375hp easy with new heads--no problems, no fear, no mess, no smell. Like what was said earlier, 2-bolt mains should be ok to 450-500hp; which encompasses most of our street use anyway. Davy
