2 BOLT OR NOT 2 BOLT THAT IS THE ??????

I JUST BOUGHT A 2 BOLT ENGINE AND CAN`T FIND ANYWHERE THAT IT IS COVERED IN THE JTR (I DIDN`T DO ANY IN DEPTH READING JUST SCIMMED) ANYWAY IS IT POSSIBLE TO PUT A 2-BOLT IN??? ANYONE HAVE A WEBPAGE WHERE THEY COVERED IT?? icon_biggrin.gif

Yeah like Ross said, either will do the trick for most peoples street hp levels. The 2 bolt or 4 bolt refer's to the number of bolts holding the main bearing caps. 4 bolt are arguably stronger, but a 2 bolt can be converted to be a bit stronger with splayed aftermarket 4 bolt bearing caps, this requires machining to use. If you have a 2 bolt, build it up and run it, it'll work for you just fine.

My 350 is a 2-bolt and I'll run that sucker up to 375hp easy with new heads--no problems, no fear, no mess, no smell. Like what was said earlier, 2-bolt mains should be ok to 450-500hp; which encompasses most of our street use anyway.
