viet_83
Hello, I own 280z and now i'm getting sick with the exhaust fume that i suffered for over a year now hahah. I did an investigation to find out where the fume was coming from and found out that the majority was from the shifter area above the catalytic converter or something. My question is what can you do to fix that? i don't have a great idea of how you can seal the fume away.
Derek
There is a rubber inner shift boot that is probably cracked. You can order them from the dealer. If your getting that many fumes at that location you may want to check for exhaust leaks as well. Derek
Guest Rolling Parts
Exhaust fumes from that area probably mean you have a pretty bad exhaust leak. If you don't hear the leak then it's probably just aft of the converter.
