280zNHChris
I just installed an Arizona z car radiator into my 72 240z with an 82 turbo motor. When I redid it all and flushed out the block, I put in a new gates thermostat and pulled out a nissan thermostat with an air vent on it. I just went through the cooling sections on the 240z FSM, 78 FSM and 82 FSM. My 240zt doesn't have an overflow tank. Now with the thermostat I put in it, it doesn't have an air vent. I drove today and it ran great and stayed much cooler than before. Do I need an overflow container? Do I need the air vent on the thermostat? Thanks Chris
MONGO510
The vent is probably not needed although I always drill a small hole in a new one, just because. On the other hand, I consider an overflow tank to be manditory equipment. It can save you bacon! Mongo
