dark91zc
i have been looking around for the stock turbo the tb03. which is a t-3 from what everyone is telling me. my issue is this i was at the junkyard and found a 280zx turbo the exhaust manifold was gone but the turbo was there. well half of it. the exhaust side was there. and it looked small. compared to the pics i have seen with the turbo still on the block. now i have a turbo already. but it says it is a t28 but the exhaust flanges look the same what would be the benifits and draw backs of running this turbo. it is the turbo in the pic on the left. thanks for the help guys. MAG58
At any decent boost pressures, the T28 will successfully turn itself solely into a hot-air blower, just creating lots and lots of heat and very little pressure and you'll probably just run the turbo right off the map. 2.8L+ is a bit for a non low pressure turbo setup (<9 psi)
dark91zc
it would be going on a n/a engine boosting no more then 6-1/2 psi.
HowlerMonkey
Then that is perfect. The 3.0 liter 300zx turbo or 1988 and 1989 use a T25 from the factory. With a t-28, you could probably bring it up close to 10 which is what I would limit myself to on the flattops.
