Rustyfriend
Hey guys, I have had my l28et swap running for a few months now and everything has been great. Just today I finally got my air filter out of the engine bay and out in front of my intercooler so I would no longer be sucking hot air. So now I am driving the Z around and decide to punch it. Once you get to WOT the car hesitates a bit and feels like it is falling on its face. My first thought is timing, but I didn't touch anything. Any thoughts? After a search I found stock idle to be 20 +/- 3deg and the autozone site says 24. Does this sound right?
Rustyfriend
Checked timing, and it is good. Checked for leaks in my piping to and from the turbo, and everything is good. Any ideas guys? I find it hard to believe that changing my intake piping can lead to this. All I did was cut open some room for the piping so I can also fit the intercooler piping, worked with piping to and from the AFM, and that is about it...... Rustyfriend
Ended up being a bad AFM. Mods, feel free to delete.
Yokohama
Something like this also happened to a someone I knew; it would lose power sometimes and other times it would be OK. It turned out that the insulation from the number one plug wire had worn off and was sometimes contacting the cam cover and grounding it out.
