jacob80
Hey guys, Just thought I'd let you guys know my most recent project. I've been removing the rust trap aka undercoating off the front wheel wells of my car. Here are some pics before por-15 and after, enjoy! at-jefft
looks good, what did you use to remove the undercoating?
jacob80
Needle scaler and a scaper for stuff that was too hard. I'm telling you, if you are even considering removing your undercoating, go down to harbor freight and get a needle scaler, no question about it! jacob80
Ok, posting up some pictures of my rear quarter inner fender liner. Look at how this was done. When we bought the car, it had new quarters installed but is this how the inner liner and quarter panel came together? A heavy piece of tape? Cause obviously rust has begun... proxlamus©
looks like a strip of fiberglass cloth... that was not properly bonded and mounted to the inner fender =(
jacob80
Yeah thats it, fiber glass, I'm sure of it. Funny thing is there is rust almost identical to this side on the passenger side....must have been done when the new quarters were installed...ugh...morons I tell ya
DavyZ
Annoying? Yes. Morons? Yes. However, it pales in comparison to the rust hole I uncovered yesterday while investigating how much the battery acid from the PO's battery damaged the car. How can anyone not use a battery tray or at the very least a sealed battery like an Optima??? Why the tape and such a half***ed job? Morons?!? YES!!!!!!!!!!!! It bites. jacob80
Well I just think people dont think of the possibility of rust before they plop a battery down on a bare battery tray. This is just a lesson learned that you should never half ass anything!
