autospot
Hey i just picked up a 1990 300zx non turbo and i was wondering if the brakes were any of use to me for my 240z as well as the rear diff and cv axles also what about the 5 lug conversion will any of these parts be of any use to me on my 71 240z turbo project any imput would be much appreciated thanks Greg
nissan2ner831
Well I'm not sure about being able to do a 5-lug conversion with the Z32's hubs, but I know there are some people using the rear end off of the Z32....problem is it is much more difficult to get it to work than using an R200 rear diff. The R230 rear diff is stronger, but unless you are building a very high output motor, it shouldn't be necessary. In all likeliness, it will just be easier to get an R200 rear differential. You should be able to find information on this through searching by the way. I can't find anything on using the Z32 hubs, so I'm thinking it hasn't been done before (someone can correct me if I'm wrong in this case). autospot
I have a r200 with the cv axle set up now but i was wondering if the half shafts would work with my r200 diff and what about the calipers or rotors are they useable on the 240z? thanks
nissan2ner831
Well I'm not sure on either of those, I'll have to leave the answer to those questions to someone more experienced with the 240Z that me =P I can't find anything on it, most people use the Z31 brakes when upgrading versus the Z32. I'm not sure if that is because you can get Z31 stuff cheaper or what, I'll leave it to someone who knows these cars better than me to answer. pallnet
Autospot You will be able to part that car on zilvia.net and get some good cash for most of it. There is an adapter bracket on the market that is used for a Z32 brake conversion on an S30, search and you will find them. Thanks pallnet Edited December 9, 2009 by pallnet Can't type and think at the same time.
