IdahoZ
I am looking at installing a cold air intake on my 240Z and was wondering how much air can flow through a 3" tube. I have a 400 sbc with an Edelbrock Performer intake and 600 cfm carb. I was looking at using an air box on the carb and running a 3" tube through the existing hole in the radiator core support (cabin fresh air vent intake). I have searched and searched and can not find any information on this. Everyone just uses 4" tubes, but I really do not want to enlarge the core support hole if I do not have to. jhm
Brett- Are you familiar with Spectre Performance's website? They have a decent amount of engineering and technical data on each of their products (ducting, air plenums, filters, etc). Check out their tech forums and application guide for airflow data. The data on their 4" ducting should help answer your question (even if you use a product other than Spectre's). Hope this helps.
