240zwannabe
alright so, i went to the track this past friday and ran about 6 passes. on the way home i noticed my oil pressure was down to 30 psi. i stopped off and got a quart of oil and added a little, it then went up to 35 psi and cruising speeds. my oil pressure at cruising speeds in usually 41 psi. the next day i changed the oil and filter to see if that would fix it. now, it's only running 35 psi still. i looked up fluid capacities for sr's and found 3.25 quarts of oil on wikipedia. could this be the issue? is this capacity wrong? 240zwannabe
ok, i just looked up oil capacities from a number of other sites to confirm and they're saying its 3.5 quarts not 3.25...

hoov100
you might have to shim the spring in the oil pump. (can't remember its official name) Did you replace the pump before you installed the motor?

240zwannabe
i think i may have found the problem, just as i thought...not enough oil. so i must have burned some at the track. the sr20 holds 3.5 quarts but alot of people are saying they use 4 quarts even. thought i'd add that for future searches
