mr jdm
Hey whats up, I have a sr20det mounted in my bay using mckinney crossmember. I have to make my own crossmember, I cant use theres. Making one isnt a problem. I dont know how high or low the trans should sit. I currently have this short shifter. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2654/3702290862_cefc494b4b.jpg Now, with the shifter in and trans where I think it should be, the green piece is about 1/4-1/2" below the top of the tunnel. Is this right or should I mount my trans lower?
MONGO510
The trans main shaft needs to be as close to paralell as possible to the differential pinion. If you are off more than a degree or so you will have vibrations. The correct angles will determin where you trany should be mounted. Search will be your friend! Hope this helps Mongo
280zjoel
when I made my trans mount, i took and input shaft and a peice of tubing to a friend of mine who is a machinist and had him press the two together and balance it out, then i Inserted it into my trans and lined it up to the center of my diff yoke, then made the mount according to that. It worked out pretty good.
