(as if there arent a bunch already haha) i got (for my 78 280z): 250 lbs in the front 300 lbs in the rear and 10in springs instead of 12in ones. jumpman2334
although there is one wee bit of a problem, i ordered 10in springs for my 280z, and it only lists 12in for mine, guy i talked to at GC recommended 10in ones if i wanted the car even lower. i'll email em right now and see what they say about how high to weld the spring perch. PETEW
Wouldn't you weld it to the 240Z specifications since it uses 10" springs already? I am assuming that you are sectioning your strut housing when I say this.
JMortensen
I'm assuming you went with the 10" springs because you want the car low. So what I would do and have done on my Z is to put the spring on, hold the spring against the top hat and hold the coilover (adjusted all the way up) against the bottom of the spring. Mark where the bottom of the coilover sleeve is, and that's where you weld your ring on.

jumpman2334
called GC control yesterday reguarding my (10in instead of 12in) spring rate and installation instuctions on my 280z. since it only lists 12in on the 280z and 10in 240z. the guy i talked to said even though the springs arent as tall, i still should stick to the original instuctions and weld the perch 8 inches from the bottom, versus the 240s instuctions (7 inches from bottom).
