roninjiro
I received this spoiler with one of the zx's I just picked up. Original owner told me it was from a company called A&A and it is made of urethane. Anyone know anything else about it or seen this style before? please don't mind my new daily driver.. I thought you had a s30? sorry, I have the panel on ebay. also, are you still running the tire rim setup? I figured i should post up some pics of this thing... It looks pretty neat and just want some more information if anyone knows anything about it. I have gotten back into the 280zx phase that never left me again, and now have 2 of them once more, but this time these stay with me. Wife said so..... KnightoftheRound
Tell me if you find out, it looks a lot like the fiberglass one on my Z, and I have been looking for what mine is for awhile now.
Sonethirty
Looks like a Kaminari front lip. A guy from vancouver was selling one on craigslist a while back, tried purchasing it from him but he posted it up on ebay and I was outbid. Let me know if you dont want that, ill take it off your hands for a good price.
roninjiro
hehe... i don't wanna get rid of it, i really like it. I am just amazed at how i can't seem to find any info on it really. ideally i would like to have it re-made, but i doubt that will happen because i really do not want it redone in glass or fiber. anyone familiar with A&A racing? the original owner said they used to make dragstrip racing composites, but were shutdown due to strict air pollution requirements or something in that sense. he also said it used to have a splitter on the bottom of it. any ideas on how to refresh it? roninjiro
it is a A&A one off in urethane. that company does not exist anymore and shut down in the mid 90's. that car pictured started off as a parts car.... had a change of heart.... just cosmetic issues and a champ mechanical wise. all it needed was a clutch. ArchetypeDatsun
I don't know what kind it is either but here are a few examples.
Mario
That looks like the old Kaemi brand not to be confused with kaminari. they made them out of a strong plastic for the s30 and s130s but never looked good to me, they were to small. KnightoftheRound
Good call Mario, looks pretty close to me!
Mario
It sure does. Man you must be as old as me you even have pictures. They had the right idea but to me the the wrong shape.
KnightoftheRound
LOL it actually took me like an hour of googling to find those pics, only reason I bothered was because I have a similar airdam as well, and I have had a hard time figuring out what it is. I think his is the answer though.
roninjiro
wow, that's it. I guess a&a racing was just a distributor like motorsport auto is
KnightoftheRound
FWIW, according to the thread on whatever site I found those pics on, that fascia itself, is actually for an S30, although the pic on the bag is that of an S130. They are still around, looks like they are a German company, most of their products it seems are also geared towards German and other European cars. http://www.kamei.co.uk/car-styling/
roninjiro
s30? i dunno about mine then.... it is a pefect fit, as it contours the lower valance and all. do you remember what thread this was in?
KnightoftheRound
Sorry, I don't remember where I found it, it was after a LONG time of playing in google. What I meant was, that airdam looks pretty much the SAME when mounted to either an S30 or S130, its just that the air dam that I posted is the one meant for S30 fitment. (Notice though that on the bag it comes in, there is an S130 wearing it though) I would say that it is a pretty safe bet that this is the answer you were looking for. roninjiro
that is pretty neat, i am debating on using it or not. now i have 2 zx once again... and i want them to clone each other exterior wise, so i may not even get to use it. thank you for the information you have managed to dig up, it does clarify a lost history. btw nice zx knight!
