badjuju
I got sick of working on the motor stuff for a while, so I moved to a much more messy part of my project, my custom dash! Please be gentle, I know it doesn't look so hot right now, but I'll eventually be bondo-ingpainting it... but for now, this represents 30 or so hours of work, a couple hundred bucks in fiber, a grand or so in silicon, a lot of itchy clothes, and a LOT of love. Here it goes: Cut some cardboard to fit up to the window joined the cardboard together Fiber glassed one side of the cardboard and scraped the cardboard off once the fiber cured: Repeat the last couple steps til you have a couple pieces to join together: Cut a hole for the steering wheel and fit up to make sure you're going to be able to fit the sucker into your car: Cut monitor hole and mount monitor Cut hole for Computer case and fiber case in: And those are all the pics I have for now. Right now, the USB Hub, iPod docking station, and mounting brackets are curing, once they're done, I'll up some more pics! This is also the latest post in my project thread, but I wanted to hear some opinions, and folks can't reply to the project thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=130545 What do you guys think? rturbo 930
Are you going to give it some shape or...? What do you have in mind?
badjuju
I am, but it won't be as pretty as the 240's original dash. The main point of this was to get the carputer in, so I can tune whenevvs
badjuju
dash is now done, aside from bondo and the finish, and it turns out i should have used aluminuminum, since it's just two flat faces.
