ITB Fuel questions

Recommended Posts

Okay, so I'm looking into getting my fuel system stuff. With that said my budget is on the low side nowadays and was looking at jegs fuel pump kits. I have a couple of questions though:

1) With my extrudabody ITB's can I run a returnless system while my fuel cell has a return on it?

2) The kit in question is this (part #555-100805) http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/100805/10002/-1?parentProductId=761038

Will this kit be sufficient enough? Sorry I'm really a newb when it comes to fuel system stuff and most searching people only use the in-tank setups or the +$1000 setups which I can't afford anymore. I just want to get the thing on the road now.

Thanks for the input and feedback!

The stock pump is probably good enough, if you are just adding ITBs. If you are using the ITBs along with a turbo, then it may be a good idea to upgrade your fuel delivery system.

The link you show is not designed for fuel injection applications. The maximum pressure on the pressure regulator is listed at 20psi. You will need to operate your system at a minimum of 35psi.

if it's gotta be from jegs you should be looking at somehting more like this: http://www.jegs.com/i/Comp-Cams/249/307502/10002/-1?parentProductId=965483

It doesn't come with lines though.

I would go with an in-line pump like a Walbro 255. They can be had all day on eBay for $100 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GENUINE-WALBRO-255-inline-FUEL-PUMP-GSL392-with-install_W0QQitemZ280456952505QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item414c897ab9). I ran one in my '69 C10 with the 5.3. I still have it if you are interested, $50.

As far as your fuel pressure regulator, a stock '00-'04 Corvette fuel pressure regulator would work just fine.

Give me a call this weekend and I'll help you get everything sorted out for as cheap as possible. But this is pretty easy stuff and your whole car can be plumbed for way less than $400.
