Delasangre4231 Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 I was inspecting my new T-5 tranny and I could pull bits of gasket from around the top cover. Is this something to worry about? MAG58 Posted February 23, 2010 Share Posted February 23, 2010 IIRC the tranny gasket isn't a "gasket" per-se but rather a bit of sealant which more or less glues the thing down there. When I re-did my T5, I used Rizoline to re-seal it and have had zero issues to this point. Please though, don't try and take the top cover off without pulling the tailshaft first. And don't try and take the tail shaft out without pulling all this shifter parts out first. It will break things. Don't ask how I know.
