confused about Evaporator controls

Recommended Posts

I am wiring up my 02 ls1 with the original harness, removing what isn't necessary along the way. But I got to the evaporator control on the top of the motor left side, which one side of the pipe is connected to the intake mainfold (up front) goes into the control module (where elect plug is) and there is a tube going out and taped to the intake fuel line.

Do I hook this up electronically? Do I need to hook it up gas vapor wise to something? I don't live in CA and have omitted the rear O2 sensors and EGR (well headers did that for me).

It is the thing right above the yellow fuel caution sticker

The Line that goes into the Evap. solenoid is a vapor line that comes from the gas tank. The solenoid regulated how much vapor is purged into the intake system. It is probably taped to the fuel line because both lines go back towards the gas tank anyways. You can cut the tape and remove the Evap. without affecting the fuel line.

Yep, all that emissions stuff went bye-bye on my motor. Just need to delete the emissions from the PCM to keep from getting codes.
