janaka
well it was a balmy 43*f today and dry out so I broke out the jerry can and went and got gas for the red monster. $20 later I get home and fire it up. Took a half dozen tries before she caught and idled ok but I can live with that. Off came the cover, pop the garage door throw the wife (8.5months pregnant) in the passanger seat and away we went. I can't believe I live in a place that only lets me drive this car half the year at best. I had so much fun it was unreal. Its loud, rough, obnoxious, smelly and down right exhilerating. We were only out for 30-40min tops toured around town and the blasted the expressway home. I forgot what its like to merge at 90mph in 4th gear and still have two more to go! My civic sure has hell can't do that. Weeeee is all that came to mind, other than slowing down for traffic amidst the dirty look from the passanger Anyway just backed it back into the garage, threw the keys on the dash and put the cover back on as I doubt that it'll get driven again for a while as I know winter is still going to poke its head out on me in the next few weeks. I just could resist the chance to get out and hit the pavement. Anyone else get a chance to take their car from storage out for a run today? cygnusx1
Great story! Â I firmly believe that the seasonal hibernation makes us appreciate our Z's more. Â Mine is still snowed in, but the day the snow melts and the mud dries up, is like mardi-graz. Â My friends who make their daily drivers into "hot-rods" tend to get bored with them all the time. Â My Z never gets boring... Good luck with the future member of the family! Â I think my wife delivered a bit early due to the g-forces experienced in the Z so be careful! thrustnut
Good for you! I'm still waiting for my rear A-arm bushings, it was a perfect weekend for a cruse up here in the north west. I can't wait though, new tune on the carb, all new rear bushings and went from 3.54's to a 3.90... should be like a whole new car.
ZR8ED
I know what you mean Jason! It was 14 degrees when I got home from work yesturday. The Z has no interior in it while I continue to clean it up, so I had to suffer with my new toy. I dropped the top and went for a drive. I was not the only cab on the road with the top down! It also happened to be my first drive with the top down! Sure felt nice in sun! I'm going to love driving this car! Handles beautiful too! Scott.
