woldson
Did some searching and came to the conclution that this diff with cv shafts out of a 81 turbo zx is the one I want for now. Yep, want the 3.54 for better cruising out on the highway, esp with higher speed limits. (39.11 is the 3.54) Wanted the r200 as well for versitily and strength. And last, cv shafts and compainion flange for placement in 83 NA ZX. (CV shafts will be rebuilt per sticky, also cv's are more effecient and stronger then my U joint half shafts.) So here is a question, do I need the stub axles, my guess is no.
jeffer949
I just did a quick search and found that they are indeed different and you will need the zxt stub axles. I know it can be daunting but it took me 3 min to find that info searching even using Google which brought be back to hybridz.
woldson
Well you got me, however, all of the information on the diff came from an hour of searching. Strange I had a conversation with someone, and they suggested that they are the same. So I will look, thankyou for the heads up Jeffer949, little turd..... woldson
Some non turbo shafts are u-joint type. These will not interchange with CV type shafts without also changing the companion flanges. All ZX axles are 25 spline and companion flanges will interchange. I don't know if the 240 axles are the same 25 spilne as the ZX's. Found this here: http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/46112-zxt-halfshafts/page__p__394116__hl__zx%20cv%20shafts%20swap__fromsearch__1entry394116 Also NA ZX 83 I where this is going into. woldson
After more searching it is interesting how little zxt to zx is known. May you provide me with the link that you found? At this point I,m not so inclined to take my zx apart yet since my wife DD it. Besides I need to do a lot of rr to the parts I gotten.
