blueovalz
I'll throw one out to you. My only concern would be making sure you prepped (some kind of coating) the surface so that paint would stick to it. The normal primers, etc, I don't believe will adhere very well. Other than that, and the cost, that's the only experience with SS that I have.
Guest Locutus
my question would be is it a stainless dressup item? or is it actually the complete rocker that needs to be welded in. If it is just a dressup item you would still need a complete orginal steel rocker there. I don't think this would be a suitable repair to rusted rocker panels. patzky1
thanks for the advice, yeah, the panels would just be a dress up.... so you think i would have to cut out the originals (very slightly rusted) and weld in the new ones? eeeeeewwww. patzky1
i saw an ad for stainless rocker panels for a z in either motorsport of victoria british... i was wondering, have any of you guys done this transplant or is there something wrong with it? right now i have the rocker area painted black but would like the shinier appeal of the stainless.
