Trbulnt
I had a thread going in the Other V8 forum and have since decided to go with a sbc T5 swap as it fits alot better than the 472 caddy engine I had intended on swapping in. I am basically following the same steps that Alf did with his V8 Z31 with the exception of the T5 trans. Here are todays pics of mocking the engine and trans. The exhaust pieces supporting the engine are not permanent they just happened to be the correct height.
RedBeauty84ZX
Is the T5 your using similar to the T5 used in the 84-86 Z31 turbos?
Trbulnt
Haven't updated this in a while. I ended up switching to a TH350 trans with a mild stall converter just cause I am sick of looking at the car sit in my garage. I still need to fab a trans mount which looks to be fairly straight forward. I just picked up a set of headers for a mid 80's monte carlo SS that with some minor modifications should work out nicely. Here are a few updated pics.
Trbulnt
Slowly more progress. Not much left to do, just taking my time and enjoying the build. I will let the pics do the talking.
Torqenstein
Sorry to bring up an old post but what headers have you ha work on your sbc?
Chaparral2f
When I did mine, I just ran a good set of blockheaders. It is a tight fit but there is enough room to clear the rack.
