Beware, friend of mine saw a Camaro running around with a pair of mufflers in the Apex style. He said it was louder than hell! That was enough for me, I'd like something somewhat quiet and the 200 bones the Apex go for hurts!

However MikeSCCA found a company making mufflers that might work - Sebringtuning. They make a stainless muffler with a 3 inch inlet outlet in two sizes, 18inches and 14inches. The 18 doesn't come polished but the 14 does. Mike setup the 18 and from what I heard on the phone it's not too bad but fitting is a little tough. Since I want something already polished and since the 18 was out of stock I'm getting the 14. Apparently the company says it's not much different sound-wise and it ought to fit easier. I hope to find out Friday if all parts are here etc. and my starter woes are figured out. I don't have an easy way to post sound files but if I can figure it out I will...

Oh, these suckers are less than $150 unless you push shipping icon_rolleyes.gif I think Mike's got pics of his installed up already. BIG pipe!

A CD 10 inches across??? Oh, you mean records?

Anyway, the noise level I don't know yet, but I'm sure these things aren't called Apex Megaphone mufflers (in Japan) for nothing icon_smile.gif

"thats actually pretty cool looking do you have any more pics of the car up?"

Yes, click on my signature picture or go to v8zcar.topcities.com/s30z/quo.htm

The wheels, are HRE somethings. They were off an RX7 (FC3S) 16-inch face, -12 offset I believe. Actually want to sell these one day, the chrome is in bad condition but I don't know what kind of wheels to replace them with...maybe Work Equips.

Mine supposed to have gone Vroom! already but the shop still has it. Hope to get it Monday. The 3inch outlet on mine just fits on the valence with NO hacking. I've looked for bigger Folger's tips but most of the rice stuff uses a 2.25 inlet (rotfl). If anyone sees a tip with a 3inch inlet lemme' know please. icon_cool.gif

i just installed a N/A APEX N1 on my inline 280Z...sounds mean. not as loud as i expected it to be. i bought the silencer just in case it was too loud. its super quiet with the silencer. i think it was a good buy.

How much of a difference with the silencer? Can it be removed and installed easily? I wonder if that fits on the Dunk muffler.

i think the silencer is made to fit the dunk and the N1...the silencer is easy to install and remove. Apex sells a removal tool, dont buy it its a rip off. i didnt buy it. the only thing i can see it is good for is taking out the silencer when it muffler is hot...im sure you could rig something up if you wanted to. i'll upload some pics soon...
