jacob80
Hey guys, Well I've just dropped my oil pan to change my gasket and wanted to check my pan for metal shaving. I did make a discovery, but perhaps this is negligible. As I wiped my finger across the bottom of the pan oil and examined it very closely with a shop light, I could see these very, very, very small metallic chips, almost like the metallic in paint, but probably not even that much. Nothing I could feel, just metallic. Is this something to be worried about? The motor was just rebuild probably not even 1000 miles ago. Could this just be from the rings and bearing being broken in? Thanks!
rb25pwrd
Check you turbo just to be safe, sounds like you might have slight shaft play or something like that not too sure
letitsnow
Possibly, cut your oil filter open and check that. If it's as fine as I'm imagining it, and the motor is fresh, it's most likely nothing, but it can't hurt to check.
yetterben
Echo fresh build theory. i would to be safe send some oil to blackstone to get a base reading. I send my oil in 3 times a year on all my vehicles to blackstone. they give you a readout of everything that not oil that's in your oil.
