Guest Zpeed
Well i wanted to get rid of the side indicators, but relised as a daily drive it will be more worthwhile to just modify it with some nice ones, what i am asking is, what do you think would be a better spot for them, looks wise, in front of the wheel or in between the door and wheel area, (hope you understand what i mean) by the way the indicators that i am getting at 2"x3/4" oval type clear indicators. which will look realy sharp and i'm getting them really cheap $6 bucks each, usually $25, i'll get some pictures on monday, thats when i picking them up.. I found some pics at the hsv site this is the side indicator that i am getting, nice ehh this is on the car, looks nice ehh.. worth a Z i believe
DavyZ
I think it gives the car a custom or more 'modern' look with the indicator between the door and wheel--that is where I would mount them. I'm considering something similar to yours or even some from a motorcycle. It'll look great when it is finished! Be certain to post some pictures Davy
blueovalz
Interesting marker light. Now if only they made, say, a BLUE oval (he he)
Owen
Side markers coming back into style??? This was part of the craze we were in before the import scene was labeled the import scene. Ahhh, I remember my Saab side markers on my old Toyota... Anyway, those ones in that pic are nice. Can you get more? I was actually thinking of the tinted ones that come stock on the newer Volvos or VWs, would match my future midnight blue paint better. Are you planning to use those lites and get rid of the ones up front? Or use both? I would use both for daily drivers, 5 years ago we wired them to stay on and then blink with the indicators. Keeps idiots from changing into your lane while you're still there! Owen
BLKMGK
I never have gotten around to figuring out how to make my markers blink with the signal. For that matter I've still got to figure out why one blinker stopped working (sigh).
Guest Zpeed
I can get alot more, but problem is i'm in aus, and shipping wouldn't be worth it, they cost US$3, so cheap stuff.. hehe I'm goin to get rid off the original ones, not sure how i'll fill up the hole, what would be the best method to fill up the hole, also the holes for the rear bumper i'll be doing at the same time. i was thinking fiberglass, or welding in some sheet metal, but it wouldn't be flush with the body lines... DavyZ
The best way would be to fill in the holes with some sheet metal. You have to flange the outside of the metal to make the piece fit flush from the back to the front. Bondo fills in any seams after welding quite nicely. Guest Zpeed
ahhh good idea, i'll do that. weld sheet metal to the back then smooth it with bondo, not a bad idea. thanks
Guest Thurem
Hmmmm. Those markers are my idea, so stay away. Been thinking about doing these for a while now. Actually we sell them for bikes in the shop where I work, they come in two sizes. Like the one on the pic and one about half that size. I think they are from Lockhart-Phillips, they cost (retail) 20-24 bucks for a set of two. And they come in different colors, ie. clear, dark, or orange. Hopefully this makes sense. Davy
