xonix_digital
I have been searching for a good writeup about what size wheels and tires will fit in an un modified 240z and I have been wildly unsuccessful. Is there a good set of information on here somewhere that I am just unable to find? Thanks, _ Alex
crazyoctopus
locations to buy http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/50877-wheel-sources-links/ more specs http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/34877-wheelstires/ weights http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/62911-wheel-weights/ fitment and what other people are running http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php?/topic/58528-wheel-show-post-your-pics-of-you-wheels/ the last one is what you really want to look into. look for wheel size, offset, and tyre size; there may be alot of pages, but there is a huge number of options that you can go with. xonix_digital
Yeah I've sleuthed through those and found good info, but they rarely say whether or not their suspension needed to be modified or the offset they are running etc etc. The Wheel show off was definitely the most helpful even though I wish everyone posted their exact configurations. These two resources along with being able to measure my current setup is what I think I will have to use. Offset and Wheel width Clearance Calculator: http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp Tire change Calculator: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html I guess I was hoping for a writeup on wheel fitment for a factory spec 240z. Something that includes brake caliper fitment and tire width/height, suspension etc. Maybe I'll have to write one myself if it doesn't exist. crazyoctopus
All of the information that you want is already inthis forum you just have to look for it. The min backspacing that you can run with stock suspension is 4.5". I have seen people run anywhere from 13" to 18" diameter wheels, as well as 8" wide under stock fenders. Like I said all the info is there you just have to search for it in every thread.
sticky280zx
The min backspacing that you can run with stock suspension is 4.5". I think he meant MAX...ps most of the wheels that came with these cars. 14x6 +10 are right around 3.5 bs...with flares a 3.5-4.5 BS on a 10" wheel looks damn good. But on the other side of things, i think that like he and others have stated 8" is about as big as it gets under the "everything stock" as far as body/suspension, and can be place pretty well with a low + offset even with small spacers, but with coils people have fit 8.5"...just keep looking around. crazyoctopus
yeah i meant max 4.5" or lower with stock coils, my bad. and yes with zg flares 4.5" back spacing all around on a 15x10 looks damn sexy then again... after i get the car aligned i may have wished i went with a 4" BS instead of 4.5.
