SteveZ
Well my stocker took a dump on me today, looking for a good replacement. I dont want to mess with regulators just looking for a direct replacement for mine. Motor is a stock L26 with SUs. Any input on a replacement and tips for the install? Thanks. xxxpatsabxxx
yea mine took a dump this week too. im thinking about one of these two to replace the rear original fuel pump, most likely the 4-7 because i have a decent fuel pressure regulator and its within the suggested range for my weber dgv carbs. its a little pricey for something simple but im sure it will do the job shouldnt be too hard of an install either. hope we are talking about the same fuel pump.... http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/accessories/accProductDetails.jsp?itemIdentifier=732036_0_0_&skuDescription=Mr.Gasket+/+2to3.5PSI42GPHelectricfuelpumpforimportcarburetors&brandName=Mr.Gasket&displayName=2to3.5PSI42GPHelectricfuelpumpforimportcarburetors&skuDisplayName=Mr.Gasket&categoryNValue=10099999&navValue=100501&categoryDisplayName=2to3.5PSI42GPHelectricfuelpumpforimportcarburetors&parentId=00-10&itemId=501-10&store=5561&productId=732036 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/accessories/accProductDetails.jsp?counter=6&categoryDisplayName=Performance&fromString=search&itemIdentifier=732035_0_0_&productId=732035&sortType=&parentId=8-10&filterByKeyWord=fuel+pump&categoryNValue=100008&navValue=100501&fromWhere=&itemId=501-10&displayName=4+to+7+PSI+35+GPH+electric+fuel+pump+for+domestic+carburetors&store=5561&skuDisplayName=4+to+7+PSI+35+GPH+electric+fuel+pump+for+domestic+carburetors&brandName=Mr.+Gasket Edited June 17, 2010 by xxxpatsabxxx
Zmanco
The Mr. Gasket pump is spec'd for 4-7 psi which is high for SUs, although I know a guy locally who is running it with no problems. Years ago I replaced mine with this: Airtex 110-E8016S It was trouble free with SUs, and also triple webers. I'm still using it to feed a surge tank for my turbo engine so it clearly has plenty of flow.
SHRALP_GNAR
I would strongly discourage you from going with a Mr. gasket. I've burnt up two of 'em in 6 months. The dude at the auto parts store said that more than half of the Mr. gasket pumps he sold came back. It Could have been because I had them mounted in the engine bay instead of right out of the tank. If you already have one I would suggest mounting it in the back. Edited June 21, 2010 by SHRALP_GNAR
