Driveshaft Question

Recommended Posts

I have a 5/71 240z and have installed a 83 5 speed in it. I just recently installed a R200 diff in it too, I have noticed that the driveshaft is a little on the short side (the spline still sits inside the trans) however the rear mount doesn't match the diff either. I was wondering with all the late model Z parts that I have on the car if a 280z or 280zx driveshaft will work in the car? Or if I should get a custom driveshaft for it? Any help with this would be great, I looked around on the forum and didn't find anything that related to this but then again I could have missed it.

It's been covered a lot,

But you'll need a drive shaft from a 280z that originally came with a R200 diff. Typically 75-78 5speed 280z's

I dont know what car the R200 you already swapped in came from, but you can also pull the drive shaft input flange from the diff of the 280z you get the drive shaft out of.

You'll need a puller to remove the flange from the diff
