xxxpatsabxxx
so im not exactly new here but i do have a 260z as my project car... heres the link to my car domain... http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3349288/1 im going to start posting here first instead of there. well my project has been going along at a snail's pace, but thats because im in high school and jobless. but now that im graduating it kinda sparked me to get the car into shape so i can have something to take to college. so, ive been trying to put in as much time and money into it as possible and things are starting to take shape. ill get some pictures up on here as soon as i find the time Edited May 28, 2010 by xxxpatsabxxx
xxxpatsabxxx
well i didnt get nearly as much done as i wanted to, but none the less i still managed to get some stuff done. i sanded my headers and prepped them for paint which will happen tomorrow. took acetone to all my trim and windows to get paint and tape residue off from when the car was painted. and i tried to paint and prep some parts of my engine bay. my brother was kinda pushing me to paint while the headers and intake are out, but being sort of a perfectionist, i would like to rip the engine out and strip the bay of everything before painting both the block and engine bay. (my brother loves cutting corners.) so he sprayed part of my engine bay anyways. Do you think i should continue??? bad paint starting to rust tried using this ... got nowhere did this with a flat head screwdriver

xxxpatsabxxx
so i decided to go back out and do some work but i wasnt quite sure of what i wanted to get done, but i ended up making the driver side carpet kit. carpet material came from walmart and its 3x6 for $8 Vacuumed it all out and took measurements with the old tape measure found this weird switch on my gas pedal... any ideas??? big piece of material and some surgical scissors for easier cutting middle section DONE front section done and i made it work with the stock tabs i have to alter the last section because i cut it an inch too short. =(
19762802+2
Is your car an automatic? If so and I'm pretty sure it either is or was at one point. That button is the Kick down switch, which down shifts the auto transmission for when you need to get up a hill or take off fast. hoov100
If you haven't yet, I would HIGHLY recommend taking a day or two to scrape all of the factory sound deadener from the floors and hatch.
