stav2201
I just replaced my alternator with a 280zx 60amp Alt. When i start the car up (no problems starting) the gas gauge and tachometer do not work unless i rev the engine to exactly 3000 rpms. Any ideas why it may be doing that? Any help would be great, thanks. Edited June 26, 2010 by stav2201
stav2201
I just ran a test and when i start the car before revving it to 3k rpms, the battery reads 12.40 volts. After revving it, it goes to 15.00v, I do need some new battery cables because mine are kind of beat up. Any other suggestions? woldson
Guess here. Belt may be slipping. When voltage becomes high enough it over comes corrosion on those circuits.
