WreZ
Was going about my business rebuilding the turbo for my swap when i came across this my friend said he ran his STI with a crack in near the same location but then again this is a car thats 20+ years older. So should i run with it like this or should i buy another turbine section?
jacob80
My guess is that the obvious answer is yes, you should replace it. Edited July 12, 2010 by jacob80

I've seen them run with no impact on performance. Yours definitely has a larger crack than most I've seen. If you can find a cheap housing without cracks, replace it. jacob80
I have a stock T3 with a thrashed compressor wheel, but I haven't pulled off the stock downpipe yet to see whether or not the other side is damaged. Regardless, I highly doubt the turbine housing is damaged. I would let the whole assembly go for $120 shipped. Let me know if you're interested and I will pull of the downpipe and snap some photos.
