staledale
When patching a rust hole, I've always just flush fit the patch and welded it. But I'm replacing a panel that raps around another panel and then it's spot welded. What do you do to protect the bare metal between the two panels? I'm afraid of any paint, primer between the two causing the weld to be bad. Any ideas out there? thanks
denny411
Its about 22 bucks a can, but you should use weld through primer. It comes in a spray can and can be bought at most auto body supply stores. After use be sure to turn the can upside down and spray to clear the tip and nozzle or you will have a very expensive paper weight
MikeS
I have had good luck with spray on cold galvanizing compound. It's 5 to 7 bucks a can, color is lite flat gray. this can also be used as a weld thru primer.
staledale
The lower rear quarter, that raps around the inter wheelhouse. Also on a mustang I pull the seat risers off the floor and cleaned it up. I used a spot weld cutter and plan to put it back down and reweld where I cut the spots. Thanks guys
