Guest BadKarmaCreepin
say you're cruising at like 30-35 down local roads in 5th gear(5-speed tranny) and you floor it. Is it supposed to stall? My guess was that you're opening the throttle all the way but there isn't enough gas because of the carb getting to the engine, so it stalls. Am I right? Or is there something wrong with the carb? thanks. BTW: Now that I've accepted that this is gonna take longer than I thought, I'm starting round 2 on my beast, and am down to finish it all the way, no matter how long it takes. BOW DOWN TO THE v8Z!! Mike C
Do you means bogs and not stalls? Usually when a carb bogs it's because of too much air. The accelerator pump shot needs to have its volume or rate changed. I ASSume you have a Holley? Vac secondary? Double pump? Either way, larger squirters (or shooters) are available in addition to more capacity accelerator pumps and different cams.
Guest BadKarmaCreepin
the thing died completely while i was driving. had to jump on the clutch, and start it again while we were moving(kind of a weird experience). and yeah, it's got a holley 750 i think. BLKMGK
Mine did this to me the other day - choke wired up correctly? Looked like my choke plate sort of fell closed It's wired up now!
Guest Anonymous
Dont floor it in 5th gear at 30 MPH. This is why you have a five speed. The engine is not turning enough rpm and is under too heavy a load to rev. It has no other choice but to stall.
