Alright I know z32's dont get too much love on this forum but i thought i would try anyways.

What would be needed to convert a N/A convertible(has na 4.08 r200) to have a twin turbo 3.69 r230 vlsd?

Also some have told me the N/A differential is open, some say vlsd...Which one is it?

I believe all of the Z32 diffs are VLSD r200 and r230. To swap in the R230 you will need to pretty much get a TT rear sub frame, axles, drive shaft (r230 has a different companion flange), diff etc... I looked into this for a while and decided against it since the r200 seem to hold sufficient power and come in an array of gear ratio's like 4.08, 3.69, 3.54, 3.31 (I have seen a few of these but not very often)some of which require swapping of axle ends and drilling new holes in the companion flange to accept the N/A drive shaft. I won't get into the route I took since it's not a real feasible route for most people.

Good luck!
