To prime or not to prime that is the question!

Hi guys

I just received some body parts from Vic British. They were painted sorta gloss black. I need to paint them white. Do I need to just wipe them down with lacquer, them paint them (thinking the black paint is primer). Or do you think I need to lightly sand, spray white lacquer primer then finish with white lacquer paint?

Tomahawk

I've heard epoxy is the way to go because it is so hard. But I have a white car that I can really match closely the color by using white lacquer out of a spray can. I know it is a sin but it is a cheap way to go. Don't know how durable its gonna be. In time when I start on my Lt-1 in my 78 Z I would like to buy a spray rig and do things the correct way.

Thanks for your input
