yem73z
Im doing the vq swap in my 73z, and was wondering if austins shifter relocation bracket will work with an ebay short shifter.
cockerstar
IIRC, it should. Read through his thread on it and look at how the relocater is designed. I know of at least one member running a short shifter with his kit, but I don't recall the brand.
yem73z
I was wondering if everyone doing the vq swap using drive by wire or is it easier to use a throttle cable in conjunction with the q45 throttle body.
Jared
No reason why it wouldn't work with a short shifter, it's designed to accept all stock components. You'll need to keep the drive by wire if you're using the stock ECM. If you're running a standalone, then go with a cable operated throttle. Pharaohabq
yeah that bracket is nice, I bought one. It'll fit any aftermarket 350z shifter since it duplicates the stock shifter mount. though modifying the connecting rod between the shifter and the tranny is required. (easy welding job)
