where is this hatch from?

Those two hatches do not look alike,to me. The oddz1.jpg looks like he has modified the existing rear window opening. The arizonazcar unit looks like it has no metal breeching across the lowest part of the hatch.

The oddz1 must have something there to attach the spoiler to.

The oddz1, looks like a simple do-it-yourself project. Remove the rear window and build in a "wedge" to fill the hole. One could use metal or fiberglass and still save the weight over the big safety glass.

My 2 cents

These Pantera style hatch replacements date back many years and I believe more than one design was sold. What's kind of desturbing about them is how little cargo space is left over under the hatch after the fiberglass insert is installed.

I have photographed several Z constructed in the late 70's that had them. One can be seen on my site at in the 2000 West Coast Nationals section

I also photographed another style at Z Fest 2002 in Fremont, CA. Young owner from Washington state discussed design differences of his at length. I'll publish photos of his design later on at my ZPARTS.COM website.

Cargo space? twak.gif , don't need no stinking cargo space! That's what trucks are for :D

I guess one could always put a roof rack on malebitchslap.giftwak.gif:D

Please post when you've done that as I would like to look at as many designs along this idea as possible. Thank you.

As Orange Crush pointed out: "that the hatch does not look that hard to fabricate". I plan to fabricate one for my 250 GTO project out of flat sheet fiberglass cut and bonded to the angled shape.
