Josh280z
I have put 280zx back together after replacing the timing chain, guides, and tensioner. Everything else in the engine is back where is supposed to be. I timed it manually before putting it back together. My problem now is it wont start. Its cranking, but it seems like its not getting gas. Any suggestions? I was thinking maybe fuses is where I would start.
Josh280z
I take that back, I hear the pump, smell the gas. So, it is getting fuel. I have also determined that it is not any of the fuses. My timing may be a little off, fooled around with the distributor and heard some pops while trying to start it. This would be a whole lot easier if I owned a timing light. Swervey McZCar
If you pulled the plug wires off, check the position. Remember firing order looking at the distributor is counter clockwise.
Josh280z
Fixed the timing issue, turns out I had the timing backward. So I just moved the wired around presto! Fired right up.
