kiwi303
I was browsing Trademe, New Zealands equivalent to Ebay, just checking out what was there, when I found some 0 offset 7x17 4x114 wheels. At the price they were up for, $200 starting bid, no reserve, I just couldn't resist slapping a bid on. To my surprise, despite only bidding the start price, no-one else wanted them They're listed as Boyds, the only Boyd wheels I can find mention of are Boyd Coddington of www.Billetwheels.com Does anyone know much about the provenance of Boyd wheels? I like the looks, USDM rod type looks which would go well with the Ford SB due to go in my S130, while not being entirely odd looking on a JDM car. Pics attached. slownrusty
Those are Boyd Coddington wheels, and they are from the 1995-1998/9 vintage, I can tell that from the center caps over the lugs. I like the lip but the centers are very dated and not my style. Those wheels were very expensive brand new. I have had Boyds make a custom set of wheels and the quality is good, but expensive and the wheels will fold if you just "look" at a pothole or raised manhole cover. kiwi303
Thanks Yasin, on the Boyd Coddington site, the cheaper Legend and Legacy lines were starting at around 500 a wheel and going up from there... since I got these for $200 for the set of 4, plus shipping, I'm happy with the price As to looks, I quite like them, they aren't thin-spoke modern racing wheels, which I don't really like, they remind me of old rods and cruisers.
