280zx Turbo Distributor and Spindle dizzy

The difference is in the top portion that mounts to the dist. itself. It has a different star like shape.

 

From my understanding you need an 82 or 83 dist. to run megasquirt, thus the need for the matching drive spindle. I think you may also be able to use an 81. The 81 dist uses a CAS (Crank Angle Sensor) mounted on the Crank pully itself, which I think is built into the 82/83 dist. Less parts to use the 82/83 and if the CAS fails likely more money out of pocket.

 

I'm not running MS currently. I'm going a different route.

 

From my reading on MS, you will also need to find a ZXT dist. I don't think the earlier sytle dist. support the MS functionality. Don't quote me, you need to read up on it, I think it is the HALL effect format MS needs.

You may want to hold off on purchasing until know exactly what you need.
