  1. I've recently come into some money and am trying to figure which path to take as a megasquirt controller. I've read the manual and only questions several times but to no avail am having trouble trying to figure out what I want to do. For starters I have a L28e that I turbocharged from a 77 280z. The only thing I'm looking to do is controll my fuel and spark and be able to tune properly somewhere in the neighborhood of around 15-18lbs of boost. I'm just trying to figure which version my money will be best spent in and is the most user friendly. I work for CarQuest so oem parts aren't incredibly hard to come by and I have a budget of around 500$-700$ if I can get any input from current users about their systems it would be much appreciated thank you.
  2. I'm looking into getting one of the obx units the only problem I'm having is I cant find the unit part number #10528. If someone could point me in the direction of who to buy from or where people are getting them I would be much abliged.
  3. Well hopefully it will all work out then now I have to figure out why my car keeps eating alternators and batteries
  4. So I Have a 77 280z 2+2 and I've done the zx alternator upgrade it has been working just fine but to start I've gone through 3 alternators and battery's should i try running a jumper from my sense wire to the battery and then check voltage I havent ran any tests yet.
  5. Lots of good info in this link live by the EFI bible it will help alot. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf
  6. 24 degrees locked timing with vacuum advance hooked up full boost at about 2500rpm stock fuel pressure with the afm adjusted. This might be a stupid question but what is an FMU? Forget to mention underboost at any rpm full throttle my afr's are high 10's and low 11's.
  7. No its a stage 3 turbine and good to know about the intake eventually I will buy an l28et and do it the proper way but everything is in and running and pulling decent at 5 lbs guess its time to turn up the boost and see were my limitations are.
  8. I'm sorry I have a fmic setup 2 1/2 inch pipe t3/t4 hybrid turbo and a stage 3 turbo cam with 2 3/4 inch exhaust I think I'm just limited by the stock efi and the cylinder head but any feedback you turbo guys can give me is great and will be taken into consideration. The cam is a regrind and I had it done as close to the stage 3 turbo grind as they could.
  9. Thanks again for all your help I just got it installed yesterday and working out all the bugs today will give updates on how everything works as soon as its on the road.
  10. Finished my NA turbo install today now working out all the bugs for probably the next 2 weeks haha.
  11. I shouldn't say stage 3 its a cam i pulled out of my parts car and had it reground it has very minimal overlap. Thank you NewZed that was a great article that really shed some light on my subject right now it looks like the weakest link in my going in setup will be the injectors and fuel pump but it will give me some room to play with and grow.
  12. I'm very new to this whole turbo setup but could any of you guys maybe help me out on how you incorporated the afm in the system. I'm currently in the process of putting the setup on a N/A 77 280z and am very confused on how this is all supposed to fit. Thank you
  13. Ok for starters I have a 77 280z 2+2 with n47/n42 combo fresh motor with a stage 3 schneider cam. I have everything to put a turbo on and was wondering what the max amount of boost I would be able to run on the stock injectors with an intercooler. I have been searching for about 2 days now and to no avail havent found anything. Some help would be much appreciated or pointed in the right direction thank you.
  14. Ok so to start I have a 77 280z 2+2 non california model. The issue I'm having is it is only running on I do believe 4 or 5 cylinders it runs very rough backfires A LOT. I had a procomp ignition in it(very similar to msd 6al). The Ignition failed and the car would not run. So I went back to the way I had it set up before which was a zx distributor swap it now runs but very poorly. If I pull injector clip 2 and 4 there is no change in the way it runs. If I pull the those plugs out I have spark at them but they are soaked with gas.I did an ecu pin test and I dont have 12v at pin #32 which is injector 3. I'm stumped if anyone can help it would be much appreciated because I'm lost do I need to wire up the stock ignition? Please help!
