  1. I'm sure you've seen this, but here's a replica unit. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/3684309361.html I am not the seller, or know the seller.
  2. So, I have an offer to tow this gentleman's car off and keep it. It's a 1972 240z 4-speed. 44k Orange with white interior Has sat for 24 years. What worries me is the door sills. I don't know if that picture is very good, but both door sill lips are covered in rust. All weatherstripping has disentergrated and rain water has seeped into the cabin on the lower door edges. Also, when you lift the hatch you can see rust possible bubbling(?). You can't see it with the hatch down. I figure I can get it back on the road running safely and if I repair the rust myself and maybe paint it myself for about $3-4000. The real question I have is how bad can that door sill rust be, and should I let that stop me. I would be trying to make this a daily driver within 4-6 weeks of towing it. Also, how bad can the engine be after 24 years. I would be freshing up things, entire cooling system, plugs, wires, pull valve cover, etc.. As long as the block and head is good, everything else is something I can handle.
  3. Good side Not so great side So, how bad does this look to the experts, and does it seem easier to fix than it looks?
  4. Can't be the Devil Z, doesn't have body painted ZG flares or fender mirrors.
  5. Not the 4.5L V8 from the Q45, the 3.5 V6 from the 350z/G35/Altima. Or maybe the 4.0 V6 from the Pathfinder.
  6. Has any gotten a VQ35 running in an S130 yet? It's probably a great engine for this car.
  7. So all I need to mount an RB25DET in my 82 280zx is A running RB25DET with transmission and all it's wiring/misc stuff R31 Skyline engine mounts Custom driveshaft I'm surprised, because it sounds too easy.
  8. Ed280zx, Is that 280zx carb'd, or is it a ITB EFI set-up? I want to put that in my pants, it's so good looking.
  9. Checking in, this is my third 280zx but it's my first one that runs and I love it. These are all from today, I just went and got it this morning.
  10. Do these come in the right bolt pattern? Or do these require the Honda adaptors?
  11. So, to clarify.... 1976 280z + 1982 280zx Turbo Engine/tranny (complete as in pulled from a running yet totaled Zx) = I should grab....? I'm thinking I need the Entire car wiring harness Engine Tranmission ECU What about the rear end? Is there a factory intercooler, or do I need to fab one? I want to do this complete swap in a matter of a weekend, but I'm begining to think, even if I had the harness pre-assemebled, it's not do-able. Is there a step by step on-line for this? I know the engine bolts right in.... and I've read the wiring how to in the Turbo section, but what about eveything else? It really can't be that easy.
