Yeah. Try an '81 Mercedes turbo diesel station wagon, baby blue.
When you punch that grocery getter it feels like you're pushing the throttle into a loaf of soggy bread.

On an August morning in 1978, French filmmaker Claude Lelouch mounted a gyro-stabilized camera to the bumper of a Ferrari 275 GTB and had a professional Formula 1 racer, drive at through the heart of Paris. No streets were closed; Lelouch was unable to obtain a permit. The driver completed the course in about 9 minutes, reaching nearly 140 MPH in some stretches.
Upon showing the film in public for the first time, Lelouch was arrested. He has never revealed the identity of the driver.

I found the answer I needed at Classic Zcar, but it's no the one I wanted. I too now have installed the springs reversed. The progressive Eibach springs with .202 go in the rear and the .101's go up front. Damn:banghead:
However, if anyone has a 240z with the progressive Eibach's and has a suggestion regarding the bump stops, I would like to hear, since I have to take the suspention apart again anyway.

I researched this a bit and have found it difficult to get a clear answer. One spring is longer than the other. Does the longer Eibach spring go on the rear or the front? They are the progressive springs.

Hey keep me posted. Good luck!

I have access to one of these manifolds. I'm in the process of cleaning up my engine and bay. I'm running a stock 83et in my 240z. Due to the lack of webbing on the manifold and the weather in California, does anyone know if the N42 will propose problems with fuel delivery? I've read a few posts here and a couple comments suggested the N42 would be a problem due lack of heat shielding.

I read this (http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127370&highlight=l28et+cam) and it still confused me a but. It seems Big-Phil had trouble adding a larger cam to his L28et, but proxlumus' larger cam worked out well.
Mine is a totally stock '83et setup and I'm after a lopier exhaust note at idle. I miss the na sound of an NA L6 motor, but love the fuel injection and turbo. If this souds too superficial, I don't know, but simply put-any suggestions on cam specs to get the sound I'm after without damaging my performance on my stock setup? I was under the impression that the turbo will raise performance over the same rpm range, despite changing the cam. Am I wrong here?

That temp does not seem too low to me. I ran an l28et without a thermostat for a while and when coasting downhill the temp gauge would barley read above the 120 degree mark. I think that's too low. I could actually feel the engine power change due to the computer telling the injecters to run richer. And when driving around town durning like 60-70 degree weather the gauge would not read as high as the picture you posted. I think your fine.
But everything I just said may be wrong too.

BRAAP it seems you are correct. I found a thread on ZCAR and and it said the same thing. The problem I'm having now is this: When I fire the car the RPM needle spikes then stops reading. If I turn the ignition key while the car is running, but not so far to again trigger the starter the RPM needle will read perfectly, but when I let go of the key and it returns to the "normal" ON position the RPM needle stops again. Any thoughts?

I've been searching for the post that describes wiring a 240z tach to a '83let engine. Can someone thow me a bone here?

Damn!!! Tony D. I did not even watch that one because I assumed it was a 8 cylinder by the way it looks. After hearing it that thing is a badass 6... I think?

I guess it's not really a big deal, and a repost!!! Doh!!! But it simply has to be said that a rad Z like that in it's original environment is worth a few ohh's and ahh's; especially the way it spanked the Porsche is the video. It's just a rad show that's all.
-
Ahhhh, Jon! I thought I was being original here by offering a new video. It's hard to be the first, especially when it's not yours. Oh well, I enjoyed the show and hope those who have not seen it do the same.

Yeah I was thinking carnage was something else too. Time for the R200.

I recently got clocked at 85 mph. The cop said he has not seen a 24oz flying the freeway in years. I popped the hood and showed him the l28et and mentioned I dropped a 5-speed in it. He was impressed and dropped my mph by 15, so I at least have no traffic school. That was pretty cool of him I suppose.

240z turbo swap tachometer problem

I did the L28et swap into my 240z and after wiring the stock tach up it only works when I turn the ignition key to start the car. The needle will jump to the correct RPM then go to 0 after the car is started. Also, when the car is idling or driving I can turn the ignition key a little past the start position without engaging the starter and if I hold the key there the RPM gauge will read properly, but then when I let go of the key and just drive/idle normally the RPM gauge stops working. Any ideas? Thanks.
