  1. Holy Hell that thing is quick. But man does it sound like a bad time on the toilet.
  2. I'm guessing you didnt get to #5 And I'd like to see that BMW vid myself.
  3. Buahahaha If it means its one less rotary to have to listen to, then I say go for it
  4. Looks like it clears the crossmember to me: http://www.vildinimotorsport.com/gallery/Gavin%20-%20SR240z/1.JPG How much of a power-band advantage does the RB20 have, if any, over the SR's that it will make up for not only the extra weight it has over the SR but also the fact that with the SR in a Z you practically have a mid engined car so weight distribution and center of gravity are optimized with the SR vs the RB.
  5. what are we looking at as far as distribution of the information that results from all of this testing? I read the mention of a video possibly being produced (I assume thats going to be a purchase item). But what about print (or online) material? Any plans on how thats going to be approached other than the possibility of it being covered in the previously mentioned magazine (in the event that doesnt pan out)? Is any of this going to be made free public information? I'm not trying to sound pessimistic. I'm just trying to gauge a feel for what we're aiming for aside from the obvious, which is the testing.
  6. Does the rear biased weight distribution have any negative effect on high speed handling? (read: does it get squirrely )
  7. That pump will flow enough fuel to flow quite a bit of power. It states right in the description that it can be used as a stand alone pump. Whether it's good for your application would be determined by how much power you are planning to make.
  8. clunking could be a broken belt thats wrapped around a pulley or something along those lines. Possibly from the accident. How hot did the car get? Cause you may have blown the head gasket based on how you described it when it last ran.
  9. it'd be to your advantage to grab the engine wiring harness too as the turbo and NA harness' are not compatible. The swap isn't too bad and if you're worried about the swap then take a camera with you and take plenty of pics of the turbo engine and all it's components while it's still installed in the donor car. And remember, if you run into any snags with the install, this swap has been done so many times that you're sure to find someone that can help you if you get stuck. I picked up an entire running turbo parts car for $75. Drove it 1000 miles home then pulled the engine and swapped it into my non turbo Z. It's really easy when you've got the entire car.
  10. Did you see the size of some of those? Holy crap
  11. You could probably just as soon buy Schwarzenegers house for what a custom engine machined from a billet of aluminum would cost (sure thats a little overkill, but it gets the point across).
  12. If you do trim out the webbing then it would be wise to leave a small fin on either side of each runner to help dissipate what heat does still form on the heatshield. But overall it should keep the intake manifold itself cooler as more heat is able to vent up through the runners and out the vents. Of course whether or not the difference is worth the work involved in trimming it down is another thing
