  1. Hey I am on my last limb here. I got a 1973 240z with an 83 l28et swap. It has a fuel cell wired to a switch. The car will run and boost really good like it's supposed to when I put new spark plugs in. After driving it about 15 min or about 20 starts and moving out my garage in the driveway, the plugs will start to foul out and miss and hesitate. The guy that did the swap told me that it was because of the fuel pump he put in out of a 98 mustang. Well I changed it for a Nissan correct lph one, and still have the problem. I've replaced a lot of parts including 02 sensor thinking that would fix it. Now Im being told it is my Fuel Pressure Reg or my Cold Start Valve. I dont have a job to go buy unnecessary parts. Has anyone experienced this problem and fixed it? HELP!! Thanks a lot!!
  2. It's very do-able I have a 73 240z with an L28et from an 83 280zxt. It's got the 4spd manual and a welded rear diff. The only problem Im having is that it is fouling plugs super quickly and havent figured it out yet. But it is amazing the power to weight with that motor. Good luck
  3. Hey i got a 73 240z with an L28et swap, 4 speed stage 3 clutch, msd hvc 6600 ignition with 8520 coil pack, and more. It does have some rust though in the usual places. The pass floor has been welded up, the driver side has some sheet metal for a pan right now and the seat brackets need rewelded. But the car is a great project. I got a set of fiberglass fenders and hood! replaced the shitty hatch that was on it and put a new shock in. Et slicks on the back with a posi welded rear end.

Its going to be REAL hard to find a swap already done with no rust for 5 or less. These cars are prone to it unless you move to phoenix.
  5. I got a 73 240z with a l28et swap check my profile asking 3500 obo anyways
  6. Ok I have a MSD HVC 6600 box and HVC Coil with Accel 25-pro 8.8mm wires. I have a 1973 240z with a L28ET swap. I dont know if the distributor is stock on the 280zx motor or a L24? I do think its a stock 280zx dist because it has a condensor on the coil. I am having trouble finding out how to hook up my box. I can find out where to hook every wire up except the white one that leaves the box and hooks to a wire for the dist. I have what looks like a voltage regulator mounted on the passenger side fender with a wire that goes to the coil. SUMMITS WEBSITE INSTALLATION Points: The single White wire of the MSD is for points triggering. It connects to the points/amplifier output wire of the distributor. BUT WHERE IS THE OUTPUT WIRE??? PLEASE HELP THANKS!!
  7. working on my ride

  8. I think Ima keep the 4 speed unless something blows on it. I just wanna get the bugs worked out. Mainly its just the blow off valve, upgrading to msd hvs 6600 ignition and coil with 8.8mm wires. Then Im going to make sure its not surging anymore. With these parts it should take care of it no problem and give me way more power but not over-do it. Its going to be a weekend sleeper to make some quick cash =) that is until everyone sees it and is afraid to run me lol. Before I take it out I gotta get my license back. But Im going to be busy putting my front clip on and the hatch, and tie rods then I should have it back and ready to go have fun. Im in Roanoke.
  9. So here she is. I paid 1400 bucks for it. Plus $500 to paint it, unfortunately I wasted my time and money with that. I gotta take the guy to court to get some of my money back. Anyways its a 1973 240z with an l28et and 4 speed swap already done and wired. I dont know what size turbo is on it, I was thinking stock but its rediculously fast.I couldnt get it to go into gear and dont have a license so I was going to sell it for $1500. SO GLAD I DIDNT.I replaced a clutch hose and the slave cylinder, both only $30. The blow off valve was an HKS knockoff and toasted causing it to surge like crazy hitting 2nd. Also it was causing the boost gauge to create 10 psi vaccum. So I ordered a TurboXS H-RFL bov, supposed to be loud. Also I got an MSD HVC nascar ignition box supposed to be twice as good as a 6al. Also I got an MSD HVC coil, and 8.8mm Accel plug wires, NGK plugs. Its got a fuel pump out of a 98 Mustang and a homemade fuel cell wired to a switch. I also just bought a fiberglass hood, hinges, glass fenders, hatch, shock. I gotta go take them off tomorrow.
