    WOWZERS! SO MANY PEOPLE IN ILLINOIS!

(i should be ashamed of saying this) i really dont even see any Zs... the only "well known" one i guess i know of is the yellow one... by body werks... who shows up in HIN. But ams huh? Sweet! I stop by there when we need parts lol.... are you a tech? have you been at kwai and seen the fairlady? Well... we should meet up and talk Zs... lol.. cause we're WORK BUDDIES! lol (a Z in a Mitsubishi shop...hmmm...lol)

     

    SBC_400: Garage Kwai is.... or i should say was by One6.... One6 moved.. not that far... closer than AMS.. but yeah.. one6 was .... 3 stores down.

    And I do agree with Oleh... we should have a meet. There is ACTUALLY! lol.. besides windy city Z... which i heard is having.. or had a meet..dunno... there is a car club here in illinois Called JGTCA (Japanese Grand Tourismoo Cars of America) Their website is www.jgtca.com. be a member! lol.. no but its great... they meet up every Saturday... normally around Arlington Heights... we have two meet joints... Photos... and Mitsuwa... its FR.... MR... AWD cars. There are a couple of Z owners there... from s30-z32. but def come out if you guys can. im s13.dr|ft in JGTCA forums... so drop few lines if you see me blabbing my mouth

    If 240 Turbo (James Thagard) can put a powerglide in a 240Z' date=' then the 700R4 should fit as well. The 700 is larger, but in the ZX, there "should" be enough room.

    There are lots of parts you'll need, including a new shifter, a new driveshaft, a bellhousing adapter, a flexplate adapter and blank flexplate, a TV Cable assembly and you'll need to move the tranny mounts, but it more than likely CAN be done.

     

    I'm collecting all of the parts right now and only lack the, VERY expensive for what it is, bellhousing adapter at this point. I should have the 700R4 in my 82ZXT before too long.

    I have a good deal on a 700R4 Automatic tranny out of a 89 S-10 2wd i think... Does anyone know if it will directly bolt on to a 83 280zx auto ( I think i have a T-5 and a R200 diff) Thanks...

    I'm real curious too. My car has an all steel body except for the hood, totally gutted including doors, and aluminum dash, glass winsheild w/lexan side and rear window. The cage is basically an IT with additional front bracing through the firewall. It weighs about 2250.

     

    can you tell me where you got those lexan windows ? thanks
