Your speaking Greek to me on the ecu lol. I'm not to keen on Volvo stuff. On your colover setup do you happen to know what your maximum ride height is with coilover threaded into the tube and still have a reasonably safe amount of thread engagement? The reason I ask is that a few of us will be using the adapters with emusa coilovers and they are 1-3/4 shorter then meagns and I was just curious if a near stock ride height is attainable if the emusa's are used .

What are you going to use for engine management?

I have 78 280z and have bit of a rust issue regrading the area from where the trunk floor steps up right behind the seats to a little behind my strut towers. Im cutting out the spare tire area to mount a fuel cell soon and i want to take care of the rust issue but im not sure what is the best way to tackle it. My first thoughts were to complete remove the entire area from the step up at the seat to the tail light panel and just tube frame it and throw a bead rolled panel back in but im pretty sure the rear sub frame is spot welded to the panel, Then just doing a good rust treatment also crossed my mind but i would rather just cut it out if its not going to be a nightmare. any insight would be appreciated!

Kudos on the Volvo swap, it's original and I think one of the great aspects of s30 platform is being able to chart unmarked territorys knowing you wont go out and see 15 identical cars that look just like yours. Have you messed around with the s13 dash anymore? Im torn between that or an aluminum dash. The only thing that gets me on the s13 is available space for gauges. I have 11 gauges now and I would pressed to find a suitable mounting location for them unless you have some insight on this dilemma?

One more here with cheap ebay seats. I got the bride knock offs and they do the job. I was going to buy a genuine set until i saw a pair in person and the build quality was not that good so i just went with the cheapies and couldn't be happier.

Here's just a little shot of my 280 with 15x8 xxr513's (205/50 fronts 225/50 rears)

If its mostly stock i would not go to big especially with a small cube motor. Something in the 220 to 230 duration would sound and perform good and not kill all your low end.

Stock rb20det injectors are 270cc and im pretty sure the n/a l28 has 188cc hose feed injectors. The only reason i mentioned the rb26 injectors is because you can pick them up in fleabay pretty cheap. I have looked into the l28et and i might go the route if i can find one in good shape with the wiring harness and ecm.

I have researched it but i was just wanting to hear some info from people that had a rb20 in their z. I figured that a bone stock rb20 in a 280z will probably run around a high 13 to low 14 1/4 mile and one with a hx35 turbo,z32 afm,444cc rb26 injectors and a good engine management will be in the 12's. And for the transmission issue I will probably run a z32 30a with the rb25 bell housing if the 71c isn't up to the task.

Hi i have a 78 280z and found a pretty sweet deal on a rb20det engine set and was just wondering what kind of 1/4 mile times you s30 guys are running with the rb20 ? Also do you think the rb20 trans will handle the power of a rb25 if i decide to step up to the 25 later down the road?
