It's amazing he kept that on the road. I'd like to see how much damage the underneath side of the car suffered. Good bit of driving.

I used to work as a carpenter for the housing maintance section on a military base for several years. The guys who had to clean the oil spots in the driveways used to spend hours and all kinds of cleaning stuff to get them up. One day a colonel's move out failed inspection because of driveway oil spots and the new colonel was parked out front with a moving van and crew that couldn't unload until the house passed inspection. It suddenly became a huge emergency and all kinds of officers and cleaner crew and anyone else nearby was standing around being part of a big clusterf@ck. I was working next door and after a half hour I walked over, poured about a cup full of laquer thinner on the spots and brushed with a stiff scrub brush for a couple minutes and then wiped it up with a handful of rags. I did it twice once immediatly after another and waited about 3 minutes for it dry. Everyone's jaw dropped when the spots disappeared . The largest one was about a foot and a half in diameter and old.From that day on thats how all the driveway oil spots were cleaned on that base.
Try it.
It works with very little effort or cost.
But really you should just buy a house . Nobody says a thing about whats in my driveway. When I'm out working on my cars in the driveway , my neighbors come over and watch. It's great fun.

I read the story and in my mind I saw a car much worse than the pics show. I think at $300 you got an amazing deal. I would like to see pics when it's fixed up.

The seller was a tool.
He posted 4 years ago on a different z site that he had just purchased the car with a rust red paint job and a blown head gasket for $400 . He was looking for anniversary decals for the car.
He also said on pawn stars that he had put a 20 foot- 20 mph paint job on it hisself. He said it was worth $60 to $70 thousand.
He is an idiot.

What a feeling of satisfaction the driver must have, knowing that the roll bar he created and built saved his life. That's the best safety equipment that there is.

From the side and the front it has some appeal but the back is butt ugly. The wing is a little much.And I'm not sure what the black "pringles" can clipped above the glove box is? Any ideas?

I need more pics from other angles to really form an opinion on it. But as sx's go I like the z front clip better.

If any moisture ever gets under that bedliner the car will rust into the ground without the owner knowing it until it's too late.

Your new paint looks awesome. It inspires me to get back to work on my zx's body and paint. I'm a big fan of blue.

I have seen several half vinyl tops on z's. The info I heard was that american dealerships added them to raise price and make them stand out from other z's when they were new.
They also tend to trap moisture and lead to rust on the roof under the vinyl as the car gets older.

No pics yet but I've had my 80zx slick top 5spd coupe for 6 years now. I also have a 79 zx slick top 5spd coupe that is now a parts car. My zx isn't pretty yet but runs great. I have driven it daily (by choice) for well over a year now. It's a blast to drive. Hopefully this summer will see some body and paint work.

I agree- no mention of having or not having rust currently or repaired in the past. Also no mention of if it actually runs or how well it runs. Even a low mileage engine can have been ridden hard. I'm not knocking your car just some suggestions to your ad.
