  7. That is what i am saying. I cant believe it will cost this much. Okay so here's my problem. The car cranks but no spark and the ignition coil isnt getting any power at all.
  8. ok so here's my problem. I have a 78 280z with an 83 turbo swap. i cant really figure out the wiring so i took it to a shop. They wanted to charge me 1,000 maybe more to fix the problem. I find it realy hard to believe that it would cost this much. What do you guys think about that? oh and they also said the job will take 20hrs to do. I was also thinking about getting the MegaSquirt setup. My electrical skills suck so i was thinking if i do get the MegaSquirt that maybe someone can come help me or do the electrical work for me. Ill pay them $500 plus a free complete motor, ecu, harness, and afm. Everthing is in good condition and very well maintained. The motor has the p79 head,n42 block and a black turbo valve cover. Iam also selling the motor too $400 for complete motor. comes with ecu, afm, and harness also have an alternator,2 ac compressors(both work),fuel injector cooler setup and power steering pump
  9. wow. I would love to get the MegaSquirt setup but my electrical skill suck. I wouldn't know where to start if i did get the MegaSquirt setup. I would get it if i can get a person to help me out and ill pay them $500 (Ill also give them a free motor in very good condition. Very well maintained, with the ecu, harness and afm. Its has the p79 head and the n42 block and it also has the turbo valve cover)
  10. ok so i took it to a place thats called Precision Z. They told me that it will cost around $1,000 to fix, maybe more. Its realy hard to believe it will cost this much to fix it. They also said it will take 20hrs to fix my z. Just want to know what you guys think about this. (The motor is from a 83 turbo and my car is a 78 280z) willing to pay $500 to someone to get my car started
  11. are you talking about the haynes repair manual?
  12. the efi harness. I dont get where all the connectors go. They are totally different. the distributer has this one bullet connector and i dont know where that goes. Ill take some photos or vids.
  13. I have a 78 280z that has the 83 280zx turbo motor. I did the swap myself but im just having trouble with the harness. Iam ready to give up. Is there anyone that lives in the Los angeles area that can come and help me get it started. If you can get it to start. i will pay you well. Thanks
  14. never mind, i guess the 280zx turbo motor doesnt need the dropping resister
  15. never mind. i guess the 83 280zx doesnt need a dropping resister
  16. Anyone have a dropping resister that they want to sell?
  17. damn haha, ill drop the tranny this weekend. Do i need the drop resistor from the car that i pull the engine from. sorry for all the questions. This is my first swap on a z. I also bought the haynes manual so hopfully it will help me out alot.
  18. now i have another problem. The car doesnt want to crank. The starter is spinning but its not turning the flywheel
  19. i was just going to write, all i had to do is remove the alignment dowels haha. It fits now. Thank you for your help =] Now iam trying to figure out where everything connets to haha. I have 2 more questions. where do i mount the stock oil cooler at? Should i just remove it?
  20. The motor came off an auto. The holes on the tranny and motor dont line up correctly. Just off by a little bit, not to much. I forgot what its called but the motor has this nipple that sticks out where the tranny bolts to and the tranny has it to. so when i put the motor and tranny together the 2 nipples touch each other. Is this right or does the nipple go into the other nipple. Ill post up some pics in a few so you can see what iam talking about. Thanks for the help =]
  21. I have searched google and hybridz for answers but nothing came up. I had a 280zx non turbo motor in my 78 280z. This morning i did the L28 turbo swap and when it came time to install the tranny it juat wont fit. I am using a 5 speed that i had in it originaly with the non turbo motor. I thing i might be doing somthing wrong or it might be a differnt bell housing i guess. Are all early z transmissions the same? sorry if i sound confusing. Iam trying to write and stay awake at the same time haha (exhausted from doing the swap)
  22. I am looking for bolt on coilovers for my 1978 280z. New or used Thanks
